At Aspirational Bride I am lucky to receive some pretty gorgeous styled photo shoots from amazing industry professionals, and they really are inspirational!
Today I’m thrilled to share with you a little styled shoot which I recently organised with a great team of wedding suppliers at the Falconhurst Estate near Edenbridge, Kent.
The Secret Garden at Falconhurst Wedding Venue
My inspiration for the shoot came from the vintage classic story of ‘The Secret Garden’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett, a story which I loved as a child! Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel, published over 100 years ago, focuses on how a neglected garden transforms the life of a sullen and unloved orphan, and everyone around her too.
When Mary Lennox leaves her native India and arrives at her uncle’s mansion in Yorkshire, everything seems strange, almost alien, to her. Then Mary hears of a mysterious ‘secret’ garden and with the help of some new friends she uncovers its secrets and brings it back to life. A true young heroine, whose journey towards self-knowledge and healing begins with a locked door and a garden…
I opted for an English Country Garden feel to the shoot, and wanted to use lots of garden flowers – in our bride’s hair, in jugs and in watering cans! The cupcakes were designed to look like mini flowerpots, and an old rusty key with a mysterious label set the scene too…
The beautiful wedding venue was an enormous inspiration, as Tony from Oakhouse Photography said ”As Kent wedding photographers we are always inspired by the many beautiful wedding venues we visit, none more so than the Falconhurst Estate near Edenbridge, Kent!”
Falconhurst weddings offer an amazing wedding experience with gorgeous gardens, extensive views towards Ashdown Forest and a beautiful local country church. Not to mention amazing hosts who will guide you towards your special day.
The lawns at Falconhurst are ideal for placing all kinds of marquees. Whether it is a bohemian yurt, a vintage traditional canvas or a modern frame tent. There are wonderful billowing borders, pergolas awash with roses and generous wide gravel paths, perfect for a country garden Falconhurst wedding!
Styled photo shoots can be difficult to organise, there are many potential logistical problems when trying to get a creative team on board. However, it is truly rewarding to have the opportunity to create and develop an idea for a styled photo shoot, and to work with talented industry professionals and see their hard work and attention to detail come to fruition! Thank you to a wonderful team of suppliers who shared my vision and made photo shoot magic!
