Today I’m thrilled to introduce a wonderful new bridal resource, The Great British Wedding.
The Great British Wedding provide a one-stop shop for everything you need for your big day, with a two supplier directories and two venues directories (this is because they have a dedicated supplier and venue directory for same sex weddings launching next month!); a comprehensive wedding fair list; a store and stationery marketplace where you can buy handmade and non-mass produced items from fantastic British sellers; and advice, news and inspiration to help you with all aspects of your planning. What more could you want?!
Here’s Alex from The Great British Wedding to explain a little more…
The Great British Wedding
I have a bit of a puzzle for you, a question that many brides (and grooms) ask after the engagement dust has settled. How is my wedding going to be memorable and unique? This is a bit of a tricky question, because the answer is, it already is unique – it’s yours. Unless you are having a joint wedding, there will never be a wedding that is exactly the same.
Of course, that response is a little broad… you want a way to make your big day stand out from the crowd, right? Well then, the answer is exactly the same. You. Only this time look at it slightly differently. What is it about you that makes you different? Are you a chocoholic? Do you love anything that sparkles (a big trend this year by the way)
Speaking of trends, are you the one that always follows them? Maybe you love superheroes…. The point is (before I put you to sleep with a list as long as my arm), your wedding is all about you as a couple, so why not use the personalities your friends and family love you for to make your big day as unique as you are?
There is plenty that you can do to make this happen. Firstly, what about your venue? A modern couple might prefer a city hotel, while a country pile is great for full on elegance. A natural wedding need look no further than one of the fabulous marquee companies out there; while those more adventurous could look at a more unusual venue – a theme park, aquarium or museum perhaps.
Your choice of clothing for you and your bridal party is an easy way to show your personalities, and your choice of supplier for transport, entertainment and even cake can really make the day your own.
Giving your day a theme (which suits you both) is an obvious way to go, and can be incorporated in every aspect; from quirky invitations and edible favours, to elegant place names and fabulous decorations – it is easy to add finishing touches that suit.
What about a personalised dance floor decal for those first dance photos? Maybe glass bunting to adorn your cake table? Or how about peg doll cake toppers painted like superman and his bride to inject a little fun?
The big question is where to find these things. On-line is great – inspiration can be found in social media or blogs (like this wonderful one!), and wedding supplier and venue directories are a great place to start your search. As for the finishing touches, you are in the perfect place – Britain. There are so many amazing British craftspeople and companies out there with fantastic items, that finding the perfect something that will make your wedding ‘unique’ is easier than ever. Don’t fancy trawling the web for every aspect of your wedding?
The Great British Wedding has all your needs covered (even that superman cake topper). So don’t worry about ‘standing out from the crowd’. Go with what you both love and you are bound to have a Great British Wedding!
