Last week amazing event professionals Starlight Design, rhubarb, Rob Van Helden Floral Design, Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium, Great Hire and Over the Top Rentals hosted an extravagant evening in the East Wing Galleries at Somerset House. The theme for the evening was inspired by the four seasons, with four separate rooms dedicated to each season.
The idea for the event came from Libi Papenheim of Over the Top Linens, and the wonderful Elizabeth Solaru of Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium suggested the brilliant idea of a season in every room!
Four Seasons Event at Somerset House
Spring boasted a beautiful Singapore Orchid tree, on a Wedgewood blue linen complimented beautifully by pots of anemones and tulips. Creamy candles and beautiful suspended tealights completed the effect.
Summer featured blue and white linen table complete with birdcages, picnic baskets of lush summer fruits and cracked pots of stunning pink roses.
Autumn was gorgeous too, cosy and warm with black drapes and giant statement mirrors. The table was scattered with fruit and vegetables, wonderful topiary, succulents (so on trend!) and stunning hydrangeas.
Winter provided a table of jewel red flowers and sparkling crystal-ware, deep red berries and wonderful devore velvet.
It truly was a feast for the eyes, in every sense, especially as Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium provided wonderful tiered cakes, cupcakes and cake pops for each season too…
Hire the Barman treated guests to a cocktail for each season, and there was an assortment of stylish canapés by rhubarb, including a gourmet popcorn food station which had four flavours on offer – truffle & parmesan; serrano ham & pea powder; black olive & yoghurt; and tuna mujama & lime zest.
