A lovely guest post from Emma of Happiness and Hydrangeas.
Happiness and Hydrangeas is Emma’s wonderful online scrapbook documenting her love of event styling and general pretty things. Emma is a keen seeker of Pinspiration and her dream is to work with couples to bring their dreams to life! Today she chats about a recent photoshoot and inspiration for creative chair ideas…
After the Christmas and New Year festivities it was straight back to work for me, crafting and creating for my first styled shoot last weekend as part of a small collective of Glasgow based wedding suppliers.
A few of us did a location reccie before Christmas to check out the venue and to see the facilities they had onsite that we could use. The venue is a gorgeous newly renovated village hall around 45 minutes from Glasgow City Centre, but one of our biggest concerns was their function chairs. They can be best described as to be left to the school assembly hall and can only be used if covered. I knew that I didn’t want to use chair covers for our styled shoot as I wanted the chairs to look rustic, so one of the first points we raised to the coordinator was that we needed different chairs!
Creative Chair Ideas
We luckily managed to source six matching dining chairs for free that I sanded down (with the help of my other half!) and painted to suit the styling. This would be notoriously hard to DIY on a small budget for a big wedding without a lot of man power and time to spare searching Gumtree and Freecycle, but it would be achievable for your top table to create an alternative look.
I can’t wait to see the final images and to be able to share them with you all, but in the meantime I created a mood board of creative chair ideas if you fancy trying something different!
Editor’s Note: Thank you Emma, lovely colourful ideas, perfect for making a splash with a top table design!
