Cocktail Natives Launch Party

The lovely Kate Cullen of Lavender and Linen samples some cocktails at the Cocktail Natives launch party, all in the course of duty (or so she said!)…

This week I had the pleasure of attending the Cocktail Natives launch party in Bath. Having connected with them on Twitter I knew a little bit about this dynamic new company and was eager to try out their delicious looking lollies!

I am pleased to report that they were as tasty as they sounded (although I did force my partner in crime for the evening, Christy Blanch Photography, to try several more due to my driver status!).

In his welcome speech, owner Crispin reinforced that the wonderful flavours were due to the top quality organic, fairtrade and local origins of all their fresh ingredients, and I must say this truly does come through in the taste, not a hint of artificial flavouring can be detected.

The wow factor for the night was certainly the magnificent ice block centrepiece containing row upon row of the different cocktail lollies – from Moscow Mules to Gin Fix, Cosmos and Margaritas – if cocktails are your drink of choice this would be your idea of heaven. The ice bar would be a wonderful focal point at any wedding, particularly in the summer months.

The cocktails are not just available in lolly form either – uber-cool shot glass canapés and popsicles can be chosen too. There’s no need to worry about keeping everything cool as Coba can hire you all the relevant freezers you could need, as well as offering you the chance to create your own bespoke cocktail should you wish.

I also tasted one of the mocktails – a refreshing lemon and watermelon flavour which I can heartily recommend for the drivers and smaller members of a wedding party!

I liked some of their serving suggestions too, like this tin bath filled with floral ice cubes – great for a rustic or outdoor/marquee or beach wedding. I think they would make the perfect accompaniment to a glass of Prosecco on arrival at a summer wedding reception!

I hope this has given you a few alternative ideas for your wedding reception drinks – your  very own signature wedding cocktail in lolly form would go down very well don’t you think?

With thanks to Christy Blanch Photography
