Bridal Make-Up Tips – Pretty in Pink
Here’s Kate’s advice…
Perfect make-up on your wedding day means you won’t look overly made up. The man in your life still want’s to recognise his Bride-to-Be! A rule of thumb is to enhance either your eyes or your lips, but not both at the same time unless you’re aiming for a dramatic evening look. If you go for minimal eye make-up, do a bright pop of colour on the lips, but if you’re doing a smokier eye with a lot of drama, go for a softer lip colour.
This Summer season is all about pinks, from candy to cerise, from sugar to baby, soft pink on the blush gives a youthful fun glow, a deeper pink on the lips say’s “glamour and sophistication”, whatever bride you aspire to be keep it fresh and simple…
Lips are to be kissed and I really think a lip-stain looks perfect for a bride, also it will stay on longer so you don’t need to keep retouching – a light rose balm over the top gives a natural hydrated look and is better than a gloss which can be too shiny for the photo’s.
To get the dewy pink flush cheek look, use a liquid blush, most brands have a wide selection.. To apply put a pinhead size amount onto one middle finger and press onto the other middle finger then at the same time place onto the apples of your cheeks, to get the right spot – smile and place fingers on the plumpest point, then gently spread out in a circular motion. Blend until the apple is covered, keep it high on the cheek – if you go down too far it looks like you’ve run a marathon! Remember ‘less is more’.
