Autumn is fast becoming the preferred time of year to tie the knot. The rich yellows, oranges, coppers and browns along with the crisp temperatures and warm hearty food create the perfect setting for a wedding.
No longer do you have to battle against humidity to tame frizzy hair or make up smudges (unless your emotions take over on your big day!) which are important factors for any bride. So, if you are planning a wedding this autumn, here are some tips to consider.
Warm Autumnal Colours
When I think of this time of year, I picture autumn foliage and cosy nights in, gathered around the fire. The colours associated with these images create great themes, not only for your wedding but also for your hair. Golden blondes, hazelnut browns and coppery reds are great shades for this season, but one of my favourites for autumn 2014 is this auburn hair colour. This shade of red would look beautiful against your white wedding dress and also create a bold statement when you are walking down the aisle.
Whether you’re looking at something big and grand or something more small and low-key, the good news is that the prices of wedding venues reduce considerably after peak season in the summer. To make sure that you find the perfect place for your wedding, spend some time visiting a few venues and try out the delicious menus they have to offer. Once you’ve found the place of your dreams, choose a date and start planning.
Autumn wedding bouquets are often made from hydrangeas, gladioli, delphiniums and gerberas but also entwine more natural autumnal products such as berries, foliage and twigs. You could also play up to this rustic theme and create arrangements from pumpkins, place names made from fruit dipped in gold paint or scatter coloured leaves to decorate your tables. It can be hard to find somewhere with guaranteed sunshine for a honeymoon in autumn without travelling far and wide. However, as the summer holidays are over and the children have gone back to school, there will be plenty of deals to take advantage of in exotic locations. For (almost) guaranteed sun, sea and sand, why not try somewhere like Morocco, Mauritius or the Seychelles. These are all well-known destinations that are blessed with glorious weather during the autumnal months.
